Has Tiger Lost His Stripes?

Tiger Woods is certainly the talk of the town. From his purported torrid love affairs, to a possible divorce, to his sponsors allegedly breaking ties with him. All this talk, however, hasn’t stopped him from being the first athlete to earn $1 Billion in a career according to Forbes. In 2008 alone, Woods earned $105 Million from sponsorship deals alone. But will the buck stop here? There were rumours that Tiger’s sponsors were planning to pull out one by one. Those was all put to rest, however, when his major endorsers, Nike, Gatorade and Gillette, came forward and publicly stated their support for the golfing great.
In anticipation of the fall out, Paddy Power has begun to post odds on who will be the next sponsor to leave Tiger in the lurch. AT&T is the favourite on Paddy’s sportsbetting site with odds of 7/4; followed by Accenture and Chevy. Nike and Titlelist brought up the rear with odds of 33/1.
Despite all the open speculation and loss of some fans, Woods remains focused and determined to do the right thing. He stated that he would be staying out of golf “indefinitely” in order to repair his marriage.
